It has pink color on its chest, which seems almost unusual. Having a lovely wash of lavender on the back of head, the canaries complete their unusual look.

For breeding or aviary pairs, it is required to give them plenty of room. You should have a cage for a Princess which should be at least 18 inches deep. The cage should accommodate the long tail of the bird.

Princess of Wales should be given parrot seed every other day along with pellets. They love to eat and love fresh food in abundance. Their main voice is a chirp which can be little loud. The Princess of Wales has a reputation for being doughty that makes them a good choice for the amateur aviculturists.

Princess of Wales love to stay in warm conditions. However, they can effectively tolerate cold conditions well. When the bird is not being excessively loud, they are a particularly good whistler and can be tamed very easily. Princess of Wales generally make bonds with more than one member of your family.

Male Princess of Wales parrots have long tail feathers and bright colors as compared to females. The male canary has a bright blue head while the head of female canary is a muted with grey blue color. Having a coral red beak, the male canary looks more attractive than the female's wine colored beak. Eye color is another feature that distinguishes between the sexes with eye color. Male has an orange iris, but female canary is browner. Moreover, there are color variations also, such as the Red Princess of Wales.

Princess Parrots are mainly susceptible to worm infestation. They must be wriggled frequently. The female Princess parrots generally reach sexual maturity some time prior to they are one year old. Males become ready for breeding when they are about two years old. Breeding season generally starts in September and usually concludes in December. The average clutch size arrays from three to six eggs. Incubation period goes on for 18 to 20 days and only the female Princes parrot incubates the eggs.
